Jidenna moves on from his breakthrough smash “Classic Man” with the white, black, and red visuals for new single “Long Live the Chief.”
In the clip, the Wondaland rapper leads a procession of suit-clad pallbearers carrying a coffin down the street, each hitting synchronized dance moves as Jidenna raps about starting from the bottom. “Cockroaches and the rat shit, hand-me-downs with the patches / Momma put a lil’ money in the mattress, taught me how to make a silver spoon out of classic,” he spits.
The video marks the beginning of a series of gifts from Jidenna to his fans. “In the coming days, I’m sharing a few tokens of gratitude with my loyal fanbase, the Jenerals. Today, we begin with this video for the fan favorite, ‘Long Live the Chief,’” he explains.
