I am in love with the new generation of SoundCloud artists coming with sounds formulated in the crevices of their mind. The sounds are insane, the instrumental mash-up is off the charts, the samples, the presentation (album art, snapshots), and promotional wave on social media makes me get up about my seat and jump on my couch with my hands in the air.
If you spend a lot of time on SoundCloud like I do then you are aware of the talents it oozes, especially among young Nigerian creatives, like AYLØ and his Honest Conversation EP.
True to its name the song is an honest conversation between soul-fusion, the rapper and his listeners.
The Ep then continues on with solemn instruments coming and going, snares, bass guitar, the sound of a woman’s voice laughing in the background most times, conversations, vice and then AYLØ telling us about how people say men love to dream. Only the best fusion.
About Melanin, We all love songs about women, songs about appreciation, be it about God, mother nature, Black woman, we love it. AYLØ opened himself up and professed/expressed deep feelings about the women he has feelings for, their worth, impact, the connection they share and of course the colour of her skin. Definitely one of my favourites.Island girl caught my attention too. From the interlude, you’re thrown. An emotional two A:M rant of an island girl in patois about how men are scum, how they come into your life and turn your world around rock your world and then when you fall they leave, they being AYLØ.
AYLØ Soul-Fusion is different from regular sound, if you’re not in support of the new age musicians then don’t bother yourself, but if you’re looking for a whole new musical experience vibe along.
