South African rapper AKA has responded to claims in the South African media that his split with his baby mama DJ Zinhle was as a result of him cheating on her with top SA media personality Bonang Matheba.
Dismissing a publication on Friday, August 28, by Times Live, a South African online newspaper alleging that Bonang and AKA had a secret affair that eventually broke the rapper’s relationship with DJ Zinhle, the fair skinned rapper tweeted: “I don’t usually explain myself when it comes to my private life but the media is fabricating a lot of lies to capitalize on my break up.”
“Break ups are unfortunate, this particular decision was mutual and we would appreciate it if the media stops fabricating unnecessary drama,” he said.
Bonang Matheba also responded to the story with a tweet of her own, “….such garbage so early in the morning. “
AKA and DJ Zinhle announced their split on August 26 after three years of relationship in a joint statement.
“After a great deal of thought, reflection and discussion we have decided to end our relationship of three years. We entered our relationship with love and it’s with love and kindness we leave it” read the statement.
“We both wish nothing but a great future for each other and remain dear and trusted friends as well as co-parents to our wonderful baby Kairo, whose happiness and well-being remains our number one priority. We both deeply care for each other and remain close friends.“
