Financial publication Forbes unveils its list of 2015’s richest hip hop artists, shedding further light on Diddy (née P Diddy and/or Puff Daddy), Dr. Dre and Jay Z’s race to become hip hop’s first ever billionaire. While Dr. Dre showed no hesitation in proclaiming himself hip hop’s first billionaire following the sale of his 25% stake in Beats By Dre, the colossal tax bill involved left him $300m short of a full billion, while Diddy’s colossal business empire surged ahead, beating the LA native by $35m, thanks to his diverse base of investments that includes Ciroc Vodka and his Sean John clothing line.
