Do you wonder where talents come from? Most people believe the best talents in Nigeria respectively come from Festac Town, and then Benin City. While you chew on that meet FullEffex. I want to say you already know him from when I picked on Dtruce but let me not be jumpy. He is always on the move, got the vision, many secrets he beholds. Real name Efe Alexander Obieroma, stage name Fulleffex, occupation is rap, studied International studies and Diplomacy in Uniben. A natural, but like everyone else his first sixteen was not so pristine, he started from the bottom.
Fulleffex was first a one-time battle rap freestyle Champion at the White house in Lagos, Ikeja in 2007. Prior to winning the rap battle competition, Efe had been writing songs and more songs. It could be said that the competition gave him the necessary push he needed to launch his rap career, because from there on he recorded a few songs which… he didn’t put out for unknown reasons until 2010. His first official single was “I no know”, and then shortly after a mixtape in early 2011 titled “Definition of a perfect Emcee” (D.O.P.E) came in its wake. The mixtape featured Yung Soss on two tracks.
While a student at the University of Benin, the young rapper kept his ears on the ground and hooked up with the university hottest names from shows they performed at. He met Lato and T.k.o and together they became the G.A.D crew.
I first heard of FullEffex when he dropped Signal of Distress. I picked it up while in a haze and it changed my perspective on Nigerian underground rap music. I spoke to Fullefex and he explained that Signal of Distress was everything the name suggested, he was going through a lot of distress at the time and decided to put in a song. “Music” for example explained his love for music, where he featured Paybac and Frankyrose. It’s a jam you should vibe to; Paybac gave a very good first impression. Songs like Truth with DTruce too where they expressed some deep personal strife they both had to lay verses on, that was tight, “Certified” featuring rappers from the G.A.D rap crew Lato, T.K.O, Cobby and Drillz was alright, the boys know their business. Jagadel also featured on the album.
Talking extensively Efe goes on to say that as a rapper he has to have a message to send out before he lays down a brick on paper, he cares little about delivery or rhymes, his style is heavy. Fulleffex is working on two Eps; one is a joint project with Olumba and Drillz.
