Meek Mill Looking at Prison Time for Violating Probation

  • By Olamide Onipede

Meek Mill’s legal woes continue.

This Monday (Nov. 6), the Philadelphia rapper is set to appear in court for probation violations for his drug and weapons case, according to TMZ.

Mill is facing up to 20 months in prison for violating the terms of his probation with an arrest for fighting at a St. Louis airport and his reckless driving arrest in New York City.

In 2015, a judge put him on house arrest for failing to get approval for travel before leaving Pennsylvania. The charges could lead to a stiffer penalty, including the aforementioned prison time.

There is a chance for leniency, as well. Both of the charges — assault in St. Louis and reckless driving in New York — have been dismissed.

For his part, Meek has been doing plenty of community service. Most recently, he invited 35 students from the Boys & Girls Club to watch the Philadelphia 76ers play their first home game of the new season.
