The US White house has made an official response to Kanye West’s Joke
Declaration of his decision to run for Presidency in 20120.
Kanye West declared at the 2015 VMAs on Sunday, Aug. 30, that he plans to run for president in 2020.
And now, Billboard reports that the White House press secretary has responded.
“[We] look forward to seeing what slogan he chooses to embroider on his campaign hat,” White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest reportedly said.
Earnest was said to be on-board the Air Force One with the president when he gave this response.
Though this isn’t the first time Kanye West is making a bold political statement, his announcement yesterday stirred a lot of think-pieces stretching from the New Yorker and the New York times, to other top media networks and celebrity blogs who put up polls, asking readers if they would vote for Kanye West.
Back in March, Kanye told Oxford University students that President Obama “calls the home phone” to talk to him and his wife, Kim Kardashian. (The Commander in Chief later told Jimmy Kimmel that while he enjoys Yeezy’s music, he doesn’t have the rapper’s home number.)
