Tina Knowles is opening up about her second marriage to actor, Richard Lawson. The 61-year-old married 68-year-old Lawson on April 12th in a lavish wedding aboard a yacht in California.
Tina tells People magazine that Blue Ivy is the one who first brought up the idea of marriage during a vacation with Beyoncé and Jay Z last September.
‘Richard said, ‘Oh, Blue, soon. Do you approve?’ And she said yes. That’s the first time we talked seriously about getting married.’ Tina told the publication.
Tina was divorced from Matthew Knowles in 2011 and says: ‘There was a time when I doubted if I would find love again.’ ‘But I was determined to be happy, and God sent somebody into my life,’ she said. ‘You can find love at any age. You just have to go for it.’
She has taken her new husband’s last name and says she hopes her romance inspires others.
