Wale and Azealia Banks engaged in a heated Twitter exchange, which started after the Harlem artist tweeted about how no Black men in entertainment have came to her defense when she “suffered publicly.” Wale, a Black entertainer, felt it was his place to comment on the situation, and he told Azealia, “we are all terrified of you . Public embarrassment is a real fear . U prolly have thousands of pple scared to say anything 2u [sic].”
The conversation took off from there, with Wale jumping in to defend Black men after Azealia tweeted, “Every other race of man ferociously protects his women, except for the black man. [Black men] make excuses for his inAdequacy.”
