Wiz Khalifa’s mother has filed a defamation lawsuit against Amber Rose for an alleged phone call that the model made to a third party.
According to the Observer-Reporter, Katie “Peachie” Wimbush-Polk claims that Rose called a phone that’s linked to her account on June 19. One of Wimbush-Polk’s friends and a former employee, Danesa Letic, was in possession of the phone at the time of the call, according to the suit, which was filed July 3.
Letic’s 5-year-old niece reportedly answered the call when Rose allegedly “launched into a profane attack.” When Letic got the phone and identified herself, Rose allegedly continued bashing Wimbush-Polk, saying that she allowed her daughter Dorien “LaLa” Thomaz to die. Dorien passed away in February due to a complication with lymphoma, according to TMZ.
Rose continued by saying that Wimbush-Polk was no longer fit to care for or even visit her grandson Sebastian, the 4-year-old son that she had with Khalifa in 2013.
According to the article, Wimbush-Polk was accused of reporting Rose to child protective services in California, which visited Rose’s home on the same date as the phone call in question. Wimbush-Polk denied making a report “at or around that time.”
Wimbush-Polk is suing because she believes Rose’s claims were meant to be malicious and harmful to her reputation. She also says that the comments were intended to lower her in the “estimation of the community” and to deter “others from association or dealing with her.” Wimbush-Polk also denies the claims that she allowed her daughter to die and that the notion has caused her humiliation and “severe mental anguish.”
Wimbush-Polk is seeking $50,000 in damages, legal costs, and interest. Rose has not responded to the suit and Wiz Khalifa has not addressed it publicly.
