It was a good evening for Nigerian and South African artistes as they carted away most of the awards at the 2015 MTV Africa Music Awards.
The headline winners for Nigeria were Davido and Yemi Alade who won the best Male and Best Female Awards respectively.
The Don Jazzy led Mavins crew bagged the song of the year award with their monster hit song Dorrobucci.
Nigeria’s Psquare claimed two awards on the night , first was the Best group award and the second was the Artist of the Decade award.
South African Artiste Cassper Nyovest won the best Hip Hop award. Cassper’s win gave some credence to a statement made by AKA some weeks back in which he claimed South African Hip Hop is number 1 in Africa .
AKA won the Best Collaboration award for his song All eyes on me in which he featured Burna Boy, Da LES & JR.
Nigerian artistes won a total of eight awards while South Africa artistes won 5 awards. Other winning countries include Ivory Coast, Angola and Tanzania. View the Full list of winners
