Beyoncé returned to Houston on Friday (Sept. 8), where she honored Hurricane Harvey survivors in her hometown.
“This, today, is a celebration of survival,” said Bey, who appeared at St. John’s United Methodist Church. “Y’all are my family. Houston is my home. I thank God that y’all are safe, that your children are safe…I just want to say that I love you.”
This was a special homecoming for Queen Bey, who sang her first song at the church, where she was accompanied by her mother, Tina Lawson, daughter Blue Ivy, and Destiny’s Child groupmate Michelle Williams. She took photos with the families and met up with H-town’s own Trae Tha Truth in the Third Ward.
Beyonce helped over 400 families in total Houston and gave out 400 free pair of shoes. See more photos below…
