Nigerian rapper Eedris Abdulkareem has taken a shot at President Muhammadu Buhari at the ongoing #Felabration2015, claiming Nigeria’s number one citizen was responsible for the death of Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo Kuti.
Recall; The legendary Afrobeat singer was arrested many times under the Buhari’s military regime.
He was sentenced to five years in prison by the military tribunal for currency charges when Major-General Muhammadu Buhari took power after a coup in December 1983.
He also spent over a year in jail, only to regain his freedom when Buhari’s successor, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida granted him pardon two years later.
According to Mr Abdulkareem, during the October 16, #Felabration2015, he said: “In 1976, na Buhari kill Fela. Na the same old people dey rule us.”
