Forbes has announced its Hip-Hop Cash Princes list for 2016, a look at rap acts who have the potential to earn Cash King status.
Forbes, #1 producer of lists of wealthy people, is back with another category of the wealthy. This one is called “Hip Hop Cash Princes,” specifically ranks the rising under 30 stars who have already managed to start a solid bankroll for themselves.
The rankings were chosen by former Hip-Hop Cash Prince Hit-Boy, Charlamagne Tha God, Atlantic Records chief Craig Kallman, hip hop pioneer Lovebug Starski and three Forbes staffers. Probably most surprising on the list are Little Simz and Young Dolph. Simz likely was placed on the list based on the strength of her Kendrick Lamar cosign, while Young Dolph distinguished himself by being one of the only independent musicians to have multiple Top 20 records from 2014-2016.
This list isn’t reserved just for the fellas, as DeJ Loaf proves. The 24-year-old Detroit MC is building on the success of her 2014 hit “Try Me” and her EP #AndSeeThatsTheThing, which got as high as No. 47 on the Billboard 200 in 2015.
