Appearing in court on Thursday afternoon (May 4), the 19-year-old rapper, born Dieuson Octave, apologized to his mother after hearing her break down in tears outside the courtroom last week. “It pierced my heart,” he said.
The Broward state attorney wanted Black to spend eight years in prison for violating the terms of his house arrest, which stemmed from his visit to a Miami strip club and an Ohio boxing match without authorization from his probation officer.
Black has been in the Broward Main Jail in Fort Lauderdale since Feb. 28.
