The Florida rapper was released 267 days early on Monday (June 5), after completing a voluntary life skills class in Broward County Jail, according to TMZ.
During this course, the Pompano Beach spitter reportedly learned about domestic violence, parenting, financial management, problem solving, and self-control skills.
Originally sentenced to 364 days for violating house arrest, Kodak only served 97. He now returns to house arrest for the next year and must receive permission to travel for work, even within his home state of Florida.
To celebrate his release, Kodak posted a video of himself on social media. The clip shows him vibing out to Lauryn Hill’s “Ex-Factor” off 1998’s The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.
Black violated his house arrest terms last year, by leaving his home on at least two occasions. One of those was reportedly a trip to a local strip club and another to a boxing match in Ohio.
The “Tunnel Vision” MC spent parts of last year locked up too. In August, he struck a plea deal and was sentenced to one year of house arrest and five years probation for several charges, including robbery, fleeing law enforcement, false imprisonment, and possession of a firearm by a delinquent.
However, before he could be released, officials found outstanding warrants for him. In September, he was sentenced to 120 days in St. Lucie County Jail in Florida on drug possession charges. After serving that sentence, he was sent to Florence County in South Carolina, where he was charged with criminal sexual conduct. In December, he was released on $100,000 bond.
