Authorities raided Lil Wayne’s Miami Beach mansion on Tuesday, seizing property to satisfy a judgment involving unpaid private jet bills.
According to TMZ, when officers arrived Wayne’s security refused to let them inside the house. They explained that they were there to seize certain assets because Wayne had not paid a $2 million judgment to Signature Group, a jet leasing company.
In September, Weezy lost the judgement and also owes Signature Group $200,000 in lawyer’s fees. The company sued Wayne, claiming that he missed payments for two years.
To recover the money, the court order allows Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s deputies to break the locks if necessary to gain entry and confiscate seizable assets.
Wayne was not home at the time. He was seen at a Los Angeles strip club on Monday night.
This is not the first incident to occur at Weezy’s Miami home. In March, police swarmed his La Gorce Island mansion in response to a tip that four people had been shot, but it turned out to be a “swatting” hoax.
