Tamar Braxton and Vincent Herbert are calling it quits.
On Tuesday (Oct. 24), the R&B songstress filed for divorce from her producer/record executive husband in Los Angeles after nearly nine years of marriage. The couple started dating in 2003, according to TMZ.
It’s been a roller coaster relationship for Braxton and Herbert, one that was captured on the reality television program, “Tamar & Vince.” A low point in that journey came in August of last year, when police were called to the Ritz-Carlton in Atlanta, in response to a domestic dispute, in which Herbert allegedly bit her finger.
Earlier this month, Braxton spoke about marriage during an interview with “The Breakfast Club.” “Marriage is great, but it’s hard as hell,” she explained. “Every day is something new. I’m not gonna sit up here and act like everything is peaches and cream every day because it’s definitely not. But [music] is what we bump heads on the most. I’m a real creative person and I’m really passionate.”
Last month, Braxton released her latest album, Bluebird of Happiness, which was executive produced by Herbert, Braxton, and Rodney Jerkins. Tamar has said that it will be her final album.
Braxton and Herbert have one son, Logan Vincent, who is four years old.
