Taylor Swift is firing back at Kanye West. After winning Album of the Year for 1989 on Monday (Feb. 15), the singer addressed Yeezy’s new song “Famous,” where the Chicago rapper claims he’s responsible for the “Bad Blood” singer’s notoriety.
On “Famous,” West raps: “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. Why? I made that bitch famous.”
Yeezy was referencing his infamous interruption of the singer’s VMA speech in 2009. The incident led to a rift between the two until last year, when they seemed to reconcile during the VMAs.
After “Famous” dropped, West claimed he spoke with Swift about the lyric and that she thought it was funny. However, Taylor’s reps denied this, adding that the 1989 star urged ‘Ye not to release a song with such a misogynistic tone.
Swift, who kicked the Grammys off with a performance of “Out of the Woods,” won three awards for Album of the Year, Best Music Video, and Best Pop Vocal Album.
