Beyoncé-inspired skyscraper being built in Australia (Photos)

bey There’s no denying that Beyoncé is a pop cultural goddess, and now she’ll finally have a towering shrine built in her honour. A 78-storey tower is currently being built in Melbourne, Australia, and its design was inspired by the singer’s “Ghost” video.

As the Guardian points out, architectural company Elenberg Fraser based its Premier Tower building design on the video from Beyoncé’s 2013 self-titled album. “For those more on the art than science side,” the company writes, “we will reveal that the form does pay homage to something more aesthetic — we’re going to trust you’ve seen the music video for Beyoncé’s ‘Ghost.'”
Of course, as with any major city development, the Premier Tower is also taking something away from Melbourne in its development. Melbourne’s Savoy Tavern was a popular spot in the 1970s and recently reopened after a 20-year absence. Months later, it’s being demolished to make room for the new Beyoncé-inspired tower. Revisiting the video (available below), it’s somewhat possible to see how the performer’s movements inspired the new structure. more pictures below and the music video….sky sky1 sky2 sky3 sky4 sky5
